Ophthalmology in a Day: Practical Advice, Hints & Tips
Ophthalmology in a Day is a Consultant Led Course aimed at the non-ophthalmologist.
This course is particularly targeted at GPs/ GPVTs/ Opticians and Junior doctors with an interest in ophthalmology.
The course content has been designed to give you hints, tips and practical advice.
The didactic lectures are spaced with small group tutorials (maximum 10:1). This gives you chance to ask questions you want to ask and not just be another face in the crowd.
After booking you will receive a confirmatory email. This will give you a contact email for you to email the faculty with your ANONYMOUS questions. We guarantee all questions will be addressed within the course.

- 0815 - 0845: Registration & Coffee
- 0900 - 0945: The Acute Red Eye (Assessment and referral advice)
- 0945 - 1030: Visual Loss and decreased vision - query cause (GCA, TIA, Migraines)
- 1030 - 1045: Coffee and Biscuits.
- 1045 - 1115: Small group session 1 (Questions & pictures): maximum 10:1
- 1115 - 1230: Infections (preseptal, orbital, herpes, shingles)
- 1230 - 1315: Lunch
- 1315 - 1400: Flashers, Floaters & Retinal Detachments
- 1400 - 1445: Paediatric hot topics-practical advice (retinoblastoma, squints & sticky eyes)
- 1445 - 1500: Coffee and Cakes
- 1500 - 1530: Small group session 2 (Questions & pictures): maximum 10:1
- 1530 - 1615: Case histories (diabetes, glaucoma and common mistakes)
- 1615 - 1700: Questions, Questions, Questions
